चमगादड़, वायरस और मानवजाति के खात्मे पर बनी हॉरर फिल्म
बरस 1964 में रिलीज़ हुई इस फिल्म की कथा पृथ्वी के उस आखरी आदमी की दिनचर्या के इर्द-गिर्द बुनी गयी है जो अकेला जिन्दा बचा है और बाकी पूरी दुनिया एक महामारी की चपेट ख़त्म गयी है. डॉ. मॉर्गन इस महामारी के इलाज़ पर शोध में व्यस्त है और इधर उसकी पत्नी और बेटी उसी बिमारी से संक्रमित हो जाते हैं पर मॉर्गन उनकी बिमारी के बारे में किसी को बताना भी नहीं चाहता क्योंकि इसका कोई इलाज़ ही नहीं है और पुलिस संक्रमितों को पकड़ रही है. वह अपनी बच्ची और पत्नि को खो देता है. अब डॉ. रोबर्ट मॉर्गन एकमात्र जीवित व्यक्ति है और उसकी दिनचर्या अपने को सुरक्षित रखने, उस महामारी से जोम्बी बन चुके लोगों को ठिकाने लगाने तक सीमित है. ये जोम्बी प्रेत उजाले में छिप जाते हैं और अँधेरा होते ही उसके घर में घुसने की कोशिश करते रहते हैं. वे आईने में अपनी शक्ल से डरते हैं और लहसुन उन्हें असहज करता है.. मॉर्गन के लिए सब से बड़ी चुनौती, रात ढलते ही उसके घर पर होने वाले जोम्बियों के हमले से अपनी सुरक्षा व अपना मानसिक संतुलन बनाये रखने की है. और फिर उसे उस बीमारी से संक्रमित रुथ कॉलिंस नाम की एक लड़की मिलती है जिसका वह अपने स्वस्थ खून से उपचार करता है. रुथ कॉलिंस को मॉर्गन बताता है की पैनामा में तैनाती के दौरान उसे एक चमगादड़ ने काटा था जो शायद उसी बीमारी से संक्रमित था जिसकी वज़ह से उसके शरीर में उस बिमारी से संक्रमण की प्रतिरोधक क्षमता पैदा हो गयी है. मॉर्गन को रुथ कॉलिंस बताती है की उनका एक पूरा समूह है जो इस बीमारी से संक्रमित है लेकिन वे मॉर्गन को ख़त्म करना चाहते हैं. अंत में रुथ कॉलिंस का पूरा समूह मॉर्गन का पीछा करता है और एक चर्च में उसे मार डालता है. मरने से पहले मॉर्गन उनसे बोलता है की वह पृथ्वी का आखरी आदमी था. रुथ कॉलिंस के शरीर में बिमारी से प्रतिरोध की क्षमता विकसित हो चुकी है इसलिये उम्मीद की किरण बाकी है !
कोरोना संक्रमण से ठीक हो चुके व्यक्तियों के ब्लड प्लाज्मा से कोरोना के इलाज़ के प्रयासों से यहाँ कहानी मेल खाती है. वर्तमान परिस्थितियों में फिल्म यह सोचने को विवश तो करती ही है कि यदि सावधानी न बरती गयी तो ऐसे हालात पैदा होने को पूर्णत: काल्पनिक भी नहीं समझा जा सकता. पूरी फिल्म इसी पेज पर देखी जा सकती है किन्तु यह बच्चों के लिए नहीं है. फिल्म हालाँकि अंग्रेजी में है लेकिन कैमरा और बैकग्राउंड संगीत भाषा की दीवार खड़ी नहीं होने देता. फिल्म समीक्षा के ऑनलाइन पोर्टल IMDB में इसे 6.9 की रेटिंग मिली है
दिलचस्प यह है कि इसी नाम से बरस 2015 में एक टीवी सीरियल फॉक्स ब्राडकास्टिंग कारपोरेशन द्वारा टेलीकास्ट किया गया था जिसकी कहानी फिल मिलर नाम के एक पात्र के जीवन पर बुनी गयी है जो अपने परिवार को बहुत प्यार करता है और अपनी बैंक की नौकरी से उब चुका है. फिर दुनिया एक बेहद खतरनाक वायरस से ख़त्म होने लगती है इस टीवी सीरियल में जो कहानी है उसका घटनाकाल बरस 2020 दिखाया गया है. इसे विचित्र संयोग ही कहा जायेगा.
सार यह है की घर की परिभाषा को विस्तार दिए जाने की जरुरत है. थोड़े से साधन सम्पन्न लोग तब तक सुरक्षित नहीं रहेंगे जब तक सुरक्षा का दायरा उन तक नहीं फैलेगा जो विकास के कथित मॉडल के चलते साधनहीन होते जा रहे हैं. यहाँ इस फिल्म को शेयर करने का उदेश्य किसी भी प्रकार की भ्रान्ति फैलाना नहीं है. कोरोना वायरस के वर्तमान संकट को सोशल डिसटेसिंग व सरकार द्वारा जारी निर्देशों के सख्ती से अनुपालन के द्वारा ख़त्म किया जा सकता है. यह संकट हमे प्रदुषण, पर्यावरण संरक्षण एवं वन्यजीवों के सिमटते आवास स्थलों तथा निम्न आय वर्ग के हितों के प्रति भी संवेदनशील होने व वांछित व्यवहारिक सुधार की दिशा में सामुहिक पहल करने का भी अवसर प्रदान कर रहा है.
सप्ताहांत में इस फिल्म को देखा जा सकता है. फिल्म केवल वयस्कों के लिए ही है अत: शेयर करते हुए इस तथ्य को गंभीरता से लिया जाना अति आवश्यक है

These zombie ghosts hide in the light and keep trying to enter his house as soon as it becomes dark. They are afraid of their appearance in the mirror and Garlic makes them uncomfortable. The biggest challenge for Morgan is to protect himself and his mental balance from the attacks of zombies on his house as night fallsAnd then he finds a girl named Ruth Collins infected with the disease, which he treats with his healthy blood. Morgan tells Ruth Collins that during her deployment to Panama she was bitten by a bat that was probably infected with the same disease, which has caused her body to be immune to the disease. Ruth Collins tells Morgan that they have a whole group infected with the disease but they want to kill Morgan.In the end, Ruth Collins’ entire group chases Morgan and kills her in a church. Before he dies, Morgan tells him that he was the last man on earth. Ruth Collins has developed resistance to illness in her body, so there is a ray of hope! The story here matches the efforts of people who have been cured of corona infection to treat corona with blood plasma. In the present circumstances, the film compels us to think that if care is not taken, then such a situation cannot be considered completely imaginary. The entire film can be seen on this page, but it is not for children. Although the film is in English but the camera and background music does not let the language wall stand. It is rated 6.9 in the movie review’s online portal IMDB.Interestingly, in 2015, a TV serial by the same name was telecast by Fox Broadcasting Corporation, whose story is woven on the life of a character named Phil Miller who loves his family dearly and is fed up with his bank job.
